Good RPM to change to higher gear

Hi... I hope you can help me. I have a 2.2l stock and i found a dyno grafic of it.

I was wondering if you know at which are the best RPM to change to higher gear

With 6000 RPM . Looking right at the dyno chart you see that you hit a wall right after going over 6K.

I hope he is talking about racing...because shifting at 6k around town during a normal acceleration would look and sound retarded.

Hey just a quick note there man, dig up your algebra books and do it yourself. I can provide you with the gear ratios for your car (if its a 5 speed manual), that will let you know when to shift at and your horsepower will be at its peak when you release the clutch.

The one thing I've noticed with people drag racing is they pick a set RPM to shift every gear, and when they do that you have a serious chance of missing your peak when you shift or being too far behind or ahead of it and losing those precious tenths of a second...

I have a 5 speed manual, please teach me how to get that numbers!

And yes... i always shift at the same RPM, i didnt know i was wrong hehe

i shift at about 5500. it hits the peak torque when you let the clutch out and you are good to go...
