As far as getting your basic performance upgrades... just do a search. This question's been answered a million times before.

Why dont u go to the Chevy dealership and trade it in for a manual. Im sure it wont cost you much, if anything. But if u get one try to get an 07 ls because it comes with the 2.0 headers already.

Converting a front wheel drive from auto to manual is a lot of work & expense for what you'll get in return.
Think of your resale value in 3-5 years. Odds are any dealer in the know will not give you anything close to trade-in value. Now, if you're intentions are to run the wheels off that's another story.
From one that's been there, done that, it normally isn't worth the hassle.

well what r ur plans? r u doin show or go? for show...options are endless. thinks of it dressing up ur kid for school. i got painted interior, blacked tail lights, pedals, LED's all over, tints, etc. For go however. Like everyone said, if u wanna go fast, B&M shift kit. I gotta standard. Lemme tell ya. The 2.2 models suck. I've had 2 clutches, one was factory default n the second one was hard abuse from my brother. I've had numerous syncro wear. Its a hassle. I just bought a SPEC stage 2+ n that was 480+450 for install, and another 40 bucks for the flywheel to b re-surfaced. Ummm...for go though...get the shift kit, n intake headers, exhaust. Intake, u can build ur own from pep boys n get a K&N filter for like 100 bucks. Ummm, Pacesetter makes a more than decent exhaust and header from what i've read. U can get the painted header for i believe 170? n the ceramic for 269? n the pacesetter monza is like 219.00 for a catback. heavily decent pricing, n i've heard good things. ummm for intake however...i'd stray away from K&N. Our cars have a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAS) and the K&N is a pre-oiled filter. What happens is that that oil gets onto the sensor n messes with it. I'm about to sell my filter n get an AEM dryflow. I'm starting to have problems n ive cleaned my sensor a couple times. Ummm, if u want any ideas i got tons. I'm working on a custom gauge pod, and I can show u whats up...I did my interior...u can look at it in my photos. Ummm, juss PM me if ya need anything n i'll b more than happy to help u n guide u along. Welcome!

Question
I have a question and i cant seem to post a new thread for it so this seemed the appropriate place to ask.
Im new to the whole car moding scene and was thinking of just adding a CAI and an Exhaust. im not sure what brand im going with yet but my question is:
Is that a good way to start, and do i need to do anything else to make sure that runs smoothly?
I just want to make sure i can add those on without causing damages to my car. Thank you for helping out!

ummm yeah it depends on what brands u buy. ummm keep one thing in mind for exhaust though...if u go with too big of piping...like 3 inch...n u dont have serious power, ur car will b slower and u will actually mess things up. like 2 1/2 in cat back wud b fine. IHE (intake, headers, exhaust) is the fastest and normally the cheapest way for HP. u shouldn't mess anything up. lol. an intake shouldn't mess with anything and neither should exhaust as long as u get a specified one for the balt. if u do custom make sure u go to a show who knows that they are doing. lol. hope that helped.

...
So what im getting for that is
1. Get an intake that is made for cobalt 2.2L
2. Get an exhaust that is 2 1/2 inch pipping
3. And get a performance exhaust header
Is that about right?

well, it doesnt have to b 2 1/2 i was just saying dont get an exhaust thats so big u wont have any back pressure. cruise the vendor sites on here. turbo tech racing has some nice deals. also, post a new thread saying help or something, and tell ppl ur new to the scene and u want some help with performance and we will help u out more. IHE is the cheapest way for quick HP. for an intake, headers, and exhaust ur looking at like...800-1200 bucks...which is cheap. just scope out stuff and figure out what u want and ask for help. people r always willing to help.
