yea hopefully it just needs some tuning to get the curve better around the 4.5 mark. We dont really have alot of information on what brand of dyno they were using, what gear it was taken in, amount of tuning done, other mods done to car, etc

When Hahn does their dynos, they do it straight up with just the kit on a fully stock motor.

If that is true than that would explain the retart around 4.5k The system isnt tuned to perfection. With the proper tuning i think the curve will improve

I think you got what I said confussed at bit. When I say stock motor, I mean, no internal modifications. If they weren't tuned, they wouldn't come close to those numbers at all.

Yes and No.

That turbo is good for I believe 20 PSI of boost...you have a good amount of room for power on that turbo.

If you really wanted to change the turbo and not change your manifold, you would have to stay with another mitsubishi turbo. If you go on http://www.ryne.com you can see which turbochargers you can upgrade to.

Glad you enjoyed the write up, if you have anymore questions, join the forum and start posting and I'll help you out some more.

Don't quote me on the 20 PSI but just giving an estimate but there is some room for improvement.

You're welcome.

The pic and writing below is coming directly from Hahn Racecraft. The dyno test was done at 8psi. The 16G turbo is capable of 35psi. Not sure about the Ecotec's capability of handeling 35psi, but we can boost up.

LS 2.2L: Our complete turbosystem for Chevy's outstanding new Cobalt will be available soon. As seen in the JIN Cobalt on the Tuner Transformation TV show, this system continues our strong history of development for the legendary Ecotec engine. Projected power output is in the 230 HP range for the intercooled Stage II system. The same system with engine internal and fuel upgrades will be capable of supporting up to 500 HP! (use photos of JIN and our Cobalts)

Thank god they can design nice ass turbo kits because they can't make a car look good for nothing. All of their cars are ugly as sin...that has to be the ugliest cobalt ever lol

i agree, the splitter on the front and the paint scheme is quite rediculous, but i wouldn't mind taking some few select parts from that motor.

I am really looking forward to the garrett turbo, i think the gt85 disco potato is a better turbo for the cobalts. It kicks in at a much lower RPM and has a wide power band. The garrett kit should produce 200-230 hp they say and it will come with every thing you need including a pigyback ecu harness.
