It looks good, wish they had more muffler choices, and its cheap enough to replace it when it rots out lol. I might try but maybe replace the muffler with a better flowing one.

Yeah theres somebody here that has that. You realize its just a Magnaflow muffler and not a full stainless magaflow system right? Also there is no resonator, so be prepared for it to bring the noise

http://www.exhaustdepot.net/doforpahe.html put this on their with a pacesetter header and your problem is fixed :;granted it will be loud still but less raspy::...adds a resonator back into the exhaust

Thats kindof neat. Do you have to cutoff the end of the pacesetter header and weld on a 3 bolt flange to use it though?

that is suppose to be a direct bolt on to the pacesetter header from my understanding

thats a good price, its what exhaust systems should cost IMO. too bad it doesn't come with a resonator though...$50 bucks for resonator + $20-$40 for install and that problem is fixed.

If you use a 5x8x14 Magnaflow, there is no rasp except just a bit on cold start up. After some heat get's in it, it sounds nice. My Cobalt has all stock piping with resonator removed and a 5x8x14 swapped in with a 4" tip. Sounds just right. The 4x9x14 mufflers have less packing = more rasp.

there is a few headers out there for the cobalt...but i wouldnt do the 3 inch on a 2.2 unless ur f/i...do like the pacesetter header, that link to that d/p that fits the pacesetter header that bolts into the stock place and then get that 2.5 inch exhaust and you will have a decent exhaust setup....thats what i plan on running

Hey Pykie where you get your exhaust done at? I'm considering doing a custom 2.5 inch exhaust.

Why on earth does everyone run a 2.5" exhaust on a little 2.2L engine? That's way too big and unnecessary unless you just like making noise. Rule of thumb for n/a 4 cyl engines. 2.25" is the best all around performer, 2.5" is when you have a power adder (nitrous) or big cams/head work. If you're making 250+hp then 2.5" will work. Otherwise, it's overkill.

right now im running 2.25 and if you look at my signature im getting parts up for the s/c addition ::thats when im doing the 2.5::..some people just dont look at everything they just automatically jump the gun...2.5 is big but not that big for a 4 cylinder....my rule of thump is anything 175-300 do 2.5 ::its not overkill ::...anything past 300 upgrade to 3 inch exhaust...
