head gasket leak? looks like engine build time

Well my cobalt has been leaking oil for about a month now since I took it out of storage. It was fine when I put it away and all winter when it just sat. Well yesterday I had it up on the lift at my buddys work (Chevy dealer) and I have oil all the way up the back side of the motor up to the header. But you can tell its not coming from the valve cover. Last week I redid the oil pan gasket. That only leaves the upper "pan gasket" as he called it. And the head gasket. I am not burning any oil or coolant. And there is no coolant in the engine oil. So I'm not positive if its really the head gasket or what.not going to lie for him being a gm tech he sure didn't give me that positive feeling ha. Any thought on this? Also if I take the head off that means build time so I can make more power. I was thinking rods stock size pistons just hone the cyl walls cams for sc application new valve springs, not sure what ones though. ARP head studs new timing chain and tensioner and obv head gasket. Any input on that also, where to buy from and what brand? Thanks chris

I was looking at turbotechracing for parts BTW. Wasn't sure if I should look anywhere else.

Cylinder leak down test should pinpoint. Could be coming from the timing chain tensioner too.

Check the 'plugs' under the exhaust manifold. Believes there's like 4 under the exhaust manifold and 4 under the intake manifold that can leak oil if they're loose. IIRC they're hex bolts. I had one leak just under my exhaust manifold. Looked like head gasket leak at first glance.
