I'm not at my home computer, otherwise I could give you list of exhaust manifold manufacturers. There are few of them out there and not hard to find with a simple internet search. I haven't seen and chip upgrade yet, and you probably won't. Our cars are more marketed for programmers. You would need to get a programmable fuel computer, like a hypertech or Greddy.

whoa there, everyone needs to count to ten really slowly before they post again....

I'm interested in finding out which header I should get as well. I still have mine from my 04 Cavy. It was pacesetters I believe. Would that work well, or should I just sell that one and get a new one?

Yeah gravana just posted two different "headers" but I think I'm going to go with the ceramic one. Don't worry about it man I didn't take any offense to it but yes I meant headers because I was talking about different ones. Thanks for the help guys. Does anybody know what kind of horsepower gains I could expect for good headers?

I thought the dif between the 2.0 and the 2.2 is the crankshaft stroke ,if so a header should fit either. am I wrong?

The pacesetter parts you are looking at are only for the 2.2 the 2.4 and 2.0 are in development yet. We have the 2.2 Cobalt painted and ceramic listed on the site. If you email us we can get you a pre sale price. They will be shipping around the 1st of the year!

Yes, but there is a little more to it then that. The engines have different cylinder head castings. I don't know exactly, but it is possible that because of the difference, it puts the mounting flanges in a slighty different place as well.

it expels the gases from the engine after they have been burned and they come out of the muffler

I know on the 2.2 ecotec engine for the cavalier, owners have seen 7-9 hp increase just by a header.

Not quite. A header is another word for the exhaust manifold. It collects, not expels gases, and is bolted right to the engine head, hence the term "header". It is the first part of the exhaust system piping after the burnt gases leave the engine. It looks like a series of pipes, in our case 4 pipes, that wind together into a single pipe.

Its the first piece on the right side of the picture. The next part is the flexible down pipe that allows movement between the engine and the rest of the pipe. Then is the catalytic converter. The remainer of the system is not pictured.
