Yesterday i was on my way to work and my power steering, ac, and gauges all went off. The display on the dash only shows power steering and low fuel, no speedometer at all. I pulled over in a parking lot and shut the car off and it wont restart, doesnt even try to turnover. The MIL was on but my reader wouldnt link up to it at the time so i couldnt pull the code. I left the car for a few hours and came back to pick it up and it started fine, no MIL, everything worked normally, so I drove it home. Started getting down the road a little bit and the same thing happened. The engine is running fine so im still driving it, but when i park im risking being stranded, also i cant afford to have it looked at. Is this something serious or is it ok to drive? Also when the car is off and wont start, what appears to be a security light is constantly lit on the dash. Any ideas? I did search forums before posting and other power steering posts didnt mention anything about the ac, gauges, or not starting.

Is it out of warranty..? Mine just expired in August for reference.

Could be a bad alternator possibly

if your in warranty take it in and have them look at the charging system. It could be a battery issue or an alternator issue. I have had a similar issue when my battery was taking a dump where I would lose my radio/ac/gauges.
