some cobalts icluding mine have 2 o2 sensors on the dp when the ss's have one on the dp and one on the manifold so i guess all u have to do is get a o2 bung welded on the dp before the cat and u should be good
i dont think it would throw any codes

On the 05/06 models there is one O2 sensor on the manifold and one in the downpipe. they chanded that in 07. However most aftermarket headers have an 02 sensor in the header itself. Buy a header and wait to install them at the same time. Problem solved?

mmm, guys thanks for all the input...I had the bung welded in on the SS down pipe. Im rather disappointed by my stock exhaust how ever...they had to cut my stock DP off at the end of it...the bolts were soo rusted the flange and the header had basically become one piece of metal lol...but i got it on and no problems and i can really hear/feel my intake come to life!
