Help! Timing Chain Tensioner
Does anyone have a photo of what the old tensioner looks like disassembled? I pulled the valve cover tied the chain to the sprockets and took the old tensioner out. The tensioner exploded inside and I think I may be missing a part or two.
Whats the best way to get these parts out without causing problems?
Just want to have an inventory so I know what I need/looking for.

My finger is pointing to the black chain guide which breaks often. The rear tensioner you are speaking of pushes on the beige guide which is prevented from travelling in too far by both the chain itself and the architecture of the engine and head casting.
I would stick a magnet in the rear tensioner hole make sure you come up with no debris. If no debris good. I would pull the rocker cover and check if the black guide is broken or the guide bolt. If its broken remove front cover and change the entire front timing chain assembly good luck

Hey thanks a bunch. I ended up buying a smaller magnetic tool to reach it! Took about an hour and a half of fishing in -10 Celsius but I ended up getting it! It had lodged itself just below the hole where the tensioner is, what a pain! Anyway, got it!
After about three hours put it back together, hooked the battery up, turned the key...it turned over an extra couple times (assuming because I relieved the pressure in the fuel rail) and it fired right up! No codes, and drives great!
