Help w/ TWM shifter install

Alright so i got the twm short throw shifter yesterday and i started to install it right away everything was going smooth till i had to cut the damn thing, it was a pain but finally did that and just when i though i was all done, i couldnt get the damn shift knob on right! Theres like these screw things that go on the shifter first then u have to screw on the shift knob but theres like about a half an inch gap from the boot ring and the shift knob. HELP if u guys need more details ill try to explain better

Ok there should be a metal coller almost like a spaceer about 1" thick. That goes on the shifter underneath the shift boot, so put it on before the boot, then the boot goes over it then the knob twist on over the boot. There should be a small black zip tie that goes in the top of the shift boot to zip it tight against the shifter rod. then tighten the three allen screws on the shift knob and voila. hope that helps

they might be tightend to much then. Try lossen them all the way before you put it one. Btw it does twist, doens't slide on. And make sure the boot is inbetween the spacer and knob.

Ok the 3 screws he is talkin about doesn't concrn you if u have the twm knob. He must have a cheaper autozone knob that's universal that doesn't thread on. As for the gap, that's totaly normal. (As far as I have ever seen) how the factory shift knob had the plastic piece that the shift boot went on, u replace that with the aluminum piece they give u. (Put it on the same way the old plastic on came off) turn ur boot inside out. Put the aluminum piece in the boot, zip tie it on so its in the groov of the aluminum bushing thing (spacer if u wanna call it that) and flip ut boot back the right way. Now ur zip tie and all will be covered and it will look all clean and done right. Then put ur knob on. And when its all don't u will have that gap so u have room to shift to first. If it was tight all the way up to the knob u wouldn't be able to put it into 1st,3rd, or 5th because the stock shift boot isn't long enough. I just installed mine last week. Good luck
