yea, it's normal... i wouldn't compare it to a turbo, but the fist time i took my brother for a drive he asked if i had put a turbo on it, so i guess he thought it sounded like one... i think it's just the car sucking in lots of air... i have a k&n and removed the intake res. so you can really hear the sucking sound...

Hello everyone, I drive a 2005 Cobalt automatic, I hear that noise also, I beleive it is from the tranny, I have read it is from the torque converter. I dont think its bad, I like the sound actually, gives the car a sporty sound when kicking down the accelerator.

take your back seat out then get on it... its the fuel pump... just like all loud ass gm fuel pumps...

my G5 does that. only 1st gear at ike 4G to rev limiter it will wine sounds like i got the SC but i dont. i dont really care what makes the sound. by the first time i took my bro for a ride he thought it was the sc and i told him its just a 2.4HO motor no sc

Yea i get comments all the time that it sounds like a turbo when i get on the gas a bit.
