Highest Revving 2.2
I'm curious to know who has the highest revving 2.2. How far, with mods, can you push these engines? 8500? 9500? Maybe not practical, but still interested.

I've got everything to support going 9500 however sc makes iats so high at that point and I don't wanna have the possibility to blow my engine again so I'm at 7k

HPT will let you rev to 16,384 actually. You gotsta out smart it.
And just put on a bigger pulley if you're worried about blower speed/heat.

Supercharges make air hotter as THEIR rpm goes up. Which is why a bigger pulley would be beneficial reving that high. If you're redlining 20% higher than before then put a 20% bigger pulley on it to maintain the same max blower rpm. It's very simple really.
The m62 has been ran to 9k on a 2.7 and ati overdrive dampener (so roughly a 2.6)

Biggest issue is going to be able to get the motor to make power that high up.
Sadly the stock head and cams and most aftermarket stuff don't want to make power that high.
The rod ratio on the L61 isn't really suited for high RPM conditions, the LSJ is much better for that (similar to a K20 in terms of rod ratios.)
I've spun my LE5 to 7800 a few times, as thats where my limiter is set, no issues. If you knew the piston speed of an LE5 spinning at 7800rpm you would be cringing right now...LOL

A small hint: (lsj)
There are other things that hpt says we can't do, that we trick it into doing. On EVERY car other than stock or gms2.

with stock interne and cam comp stg2, i have R&D
8200 is the max set point we can go with TFT
synchros ll be more a issue than your intern
with a alu. fidanza, crank and alt. it ll be easier and safer

If I was really gonna try to learn, I'd do it on something that isn't so highly modified from stock. Mostly because there's such vast differences between my stock tune and current tune that I'd never learn. I'd say tinkering with a stock vehicles tune would be the way to go

You run over 8192 the same way we run bigger that 42# injectors. With a modifier.

ok so with head work (cams, titanium valvetrain, port n polish) lets say its rated to spin at 10 000rpm. Would the bottom end (pistons, rods, crank, bearings) be able to handle that speed?

If you had aftermarket rods, pistons, and bearings and you got the crank balanced you could probably spin it out that far. You'd also need neutral balance shafts and an ATI damper. Don't quote me on it being totally possible though. I think the farthest I've seen anyone spin one is zzp in Turbo Tim's car. They had a motor built with a stock m62 and I wanna say they ran it to 9500 rpms

They ran his to 9, Ryan's car went over 9 for dozens of pulls when testing their rods. This was on le5 and lsj cranks respectively. I don't know about the 2.2... The only thing that pops into mind is there must be a reason eagle came out with a forged 2.2 crank.
