How can I make the 'Balt handle better?

Hi all,

My sister has a base Cobalt with about 10,000 miles on it. It's a great car, but feels unsettled at high speeds (70+). I'm looking for handling mods that will make it more planted.

Based on my experience with my car (a Grand Prix), I'm thinking wider tires and thicker swaybars would do wonders.

How wide a tire can I put on the stock rims (195/60/15)? I've been looking at 205's with H-V speed ratings.

As far as swaybars, do these help much in Cobalt applications? I crawled under the car and it does not seem to have one in the rear. Is there one from a higher model that would bolt right on, or is it more involved than that?

What other mods pay off in terms of handling?

Sorry for all the questions. I've searched quite a bit, but wanted some direct answers.

Lowering the ride height, stiffer springs and very good absorbing struts.

your suggestions along with njhk's are good. does she really need them though? unless she's delivering tofu i don't see a need for those mods.

Well, like I said, I want it to be steadier on the highway. Right now it feels, well, like a compact car. I want it to be able to hold its own at high speeds. The Delta platform is obviously very rigid, so I don't think it would take that much to make it handle, but I'm not sure which mods translate to genuine improvements.
