How hot you running?

Under normal everyday driving my temps hover between 194 to 202. This just seemed kind of odd considering my s10 never cleared 190 unless I was beating the **** out of it during the summer. Also I idle at 900-950rpm and my fiances cobalt idles around 650-700rpm. Does this sound odd to you? Mines an 07-08 hers is an 05-06

maybe that burning smell was a dead bird that tried laying a nest in the motor...

When your moving or your radiator fan is on the temp range is 185-194 F. Fan kicks in if your A/C is on or once your temp reaches 221 F.

Has anyone on here added a fan switch, using a relay? If so, that would be a great how-to for someone to post...

but, back on topic. Mine runs 195 normally, but it gets to 220-230 pretty quick when I'm stopped. I was told (by some random dude) that there was recall for 08's overheating, but I searched online and didn't see anything about it...

if you ever want ur fan to turn on,, just turn the AC on full blast, and than turn it off, that will turn the fan on, and when u turn the ac the fan stays on

mine hovers around 189 but if i'm sitting ANYWHERE for man than 5 minutes it hits 200 with a vengeance and keeps going til around 210. i thought something was wrong when one day it hit 220. from then on i kept the coolant gauge on my DIC up at all times.

I read in another thread that cobalt's are supposed to have 165 degree thermostats, but obviously most of us have 195...
