Well Alpine has a turbo (assuming that's what you are referring to) kit out and on stock internals, it is running safely on 8 psi.
Any more boost than that, and you'll blow something. If you plan to up the boost, upgrade them internals!

Yeah, i need to install my boost guage to see if i was pushin more then 8. i may be now that i have a 3inch exhaust. it really opened the car up. i know its not pushing like 12psi, but it may be around 9-10. i also drove it really hard. it went 3k miles with that plastic manifold.

The Alpine kit uses a separate computer (a piggy-back) to add fuel through a 5th injector and to alter timing through interface with the stock computer. No re-programming of the stock computer is necessary.

so if i got the Alpine kit 8psi would be the best bet for now until i can afford the new internals or should i just do a engine swap on a wrecked ss with the ecu engine and tranny and get a stage 2 kit i have the 07 ls which i think hp tuners can tune so i could tune it but still undecied on what to do both options are about the same cost dont know what do you guys think?

Can I get a link to that Alpine page? I was looking for reliable turbo upgrades/kits, with hopes of also finding an efficient tune for little LS. The other thing I am seeing is, you said the stock manifolds need to be replaced? I am ordering the perfomance GMPP ones next month, how will they hold up? Also, what other parts need to be upgraded in order to support turbo/higher boost? Don't want to blow anything...
Aw ****, skip the first part, I passed over your reply, and missed that you already had a link up!? LOL! Sorry...

12-15psi. the stock 2.2 block can take 250hp easily. modders have been known to hit the 280's and creep up on 300's w/o risking any real danger.
i am pushing 10psi on the stock manifold w/ 4000mi on my setup and i redline it every day. it's my understanding the turbo kit blew up the manifold due to puddling of the fuel from the 5th injector. so in short, it'll depend on your altitude but the block can handle, easily, 250 crank hp.

I'm old school
I would bet the Alpine kit was responsible for that intake manifold failing. They use an extra injector setup that sends fuel through the manifold. It was never designed to have fuel in it. A single backfire would have blown it.
Without fuel, that manifold can handle about 10 psi. 15 maybe, but that's pushing it.

So do you NOT suggest the Alpine turbo? I would SERIOUSLY like to know which one would be best...I have found a few on here, but this one SOUNDED alright at first, but I am not liking the set up much...An extra injector that floods your manifold?! Not sounding very tempting, fill me in...

Hm...Any chance on how long that might be? The other thing I was wondering, was, speaking of programming, what IS the "piggyback" that comes with the Alpine kit...I have never heard that term before? I suppose the turbo will probably be a long term investment. I barely got the money saved to get my GMPP exhaust, manifolds, and intake...I keep hearing rumors about them making a turbo OR super charger for us? Any news on that? Unless I can ACTUALLY get a company to sponsor me with some free parts, that turbo is waiting indeffinitely, just TOO expensive. Anybody have any advice on good places to get sponsors, or part hook-ups?

i say why push your luck if your going to use stock internals dont push your luck, 8-10lbs is more than enough, you slap an exhaust on their and your gonna be hot stuff.
best thing is no one sees it coming.
fun idea (you SS guys should be dreading this) pull up next to an SS/SC don't rev to high so they cant hear the turbo then when you take off stomp them and make them realize "damn i should have bought and turboed a 2.2 and saved 5grand.
Woot Woot! go 2.2
DISCLAIMER: to all SS/SC, please do not take this statment personally

Why not wire it differently and just add bigger injectors? would that work? i mean with say 60lbs injectors no need for 5th injector, you would be moving more fuel through the bigger injectors am i correct? any feedback from anyone? just something i thought of.
