wel guys ive been on here along time never regestered till recently when i got my balt, 2 of my buddies have boosted cavy's, one supercharger 2.4 and ones a 60 trim 2.2 ohv and a guy we chill with has a supercharged g5, all were tuned by the guy with the turbo cav with hpt, now my problem is i have an 05 and was told hp tuners cant be used on it, im not looking to unlock it right away, as my car is stock but the mods are going to be coming in the near future and im just wonder what is out there in was of tuning the 05 or finding a way to use hp

was told maybe swapping in an 07 ecu and engine harness might work or taking alot of time and depining the 05 ecu connector and re pin it to an 07 connector and swaping in an 07 ecu?
or unlock with trifecta and than tune with hp?

ive been searching and cant find a direct answer for what im asking, just trying to gain some info so i can get the ball rolling when the time comes

HPT does not support your ECU

your only option is Trifecta unless you want to play with a standalone

You can't unlock with trifecta and then tune hp, doesnt work like that. Your only choice is trifecta, not sure about pulling an 07ecu since there are a lot of differences (cam position sensor, coil on plug, and others) but it would most likely be a large PITA and much easier to just sell your 05 and pick up an 07 (and cheaper)

Then you have another problem if you pick up an 07. No cams unless you can find a shop that can properly modify the exhaust cam for the cam position sensor to fit on it.

That seems easier than having to redo a bunch of electrical at least in my mind, and there are a few ppl on here that have done cams on an 07+. But I don't know of anyone running an 07ecu in an 05 or 06

my good buddy has been tuning with hpt for years now thats all, i never heard of trifecta till i bought the cobalt, so thats all

now what do u mean by everything?? like whole car harness or just engine harness??

was kinda thinking of swapping in a 05 ss motor and supercharger, trying to find a wrecked 05 ss wouldi have to swap just engine harness?? or hole car harness,

i know when i did my full srt-4 swap into a neon coupe i used the complete car harness ecu, engine trans, gauges dash everything
