Could be wrong here, but I thought 160 was waaaaay high. You should be down around the 100's or 120's i do believe.

IAT= Intake Air Temperature. Normally, not an issue for 2.2's. It's a big problem with us s/c'd guys tho. If ur IAT's are that high, ur in big trouble. If your coolant is that warm, no big considering you should have a 180* thermostat

dude....198? that's way high too. you need to get urself a 160* thermostat to keep those temps down. What kind of traffic are you sitting in?

Even 140 is a bit on the high side for us. IAT2's shouldn't really ever go over 120, 110 is about as high as you wanna see them go

why do you guys insist on answering questions if you dont have a clue. AIT in traffic dont matter, what is the difference between ait1 and ait2 at WOT thats when it matters , of course your damn iat is gonna rise if your not moving.

what are you talking about man please stop. with all the cooling mods in the world your ait2 will be about 20-30 degrees over ambient temps and when at wot it will climb . outside temp in fl is 90 degrees now my ait2 is at 120 at WOT at the top of 3rd its about 150 where are you getting your info from

once again , you cant give a number for ait2 and say its not suppose to go above that number unless its stupid high like when your pump is dead etc. You have to tell the difference between the outside temp which is ait and iat2 which is the intake temp then we would be able to tell you if its too high or not.

i understand that but the temp over where he is are not that high thats why i said 160 is too high
plus its only a 2.2 or 2.4 so i dont think it should get that high when outside temps are no more than 80

nah... its more important on force induction cars especially superchargers because they create alot of heat and loose power.
