I'm poor...
I just bought a 06 LT sedan about a month ago and I really want to mod it but I just turned 19 and am a college student so I don't have much money. I am more concerned with the appearance right now because it's cheaper to upgrade. I'm planning on getting 2 gen halo projectors with the CCFL technology, smoked LED tail lights, Eibach Sport kit springs, and I just got tint put on, 35% all around. Even though I am concentrating on appearance mods, I really want to boost the performance up too. It is almost summer and I should be working twice as much as normal soon so I'll be able to afford more, but I was just looking for some cheaper performance mods I could put on. I don't know much about anything so please go easy on the technical terms :P That said, all ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks.

well a bit of advise, think about what you want out of your car. Do you want to smoke the honda civic ricers that think they're fast? or do you just want a little more out of it? Because if you want to make it much faster, save up and go supercharged or turbo'd. Because in the end you'll end up spending about the same to do bolt-on mods as going supercharged or turbo'd

What black cobalt said. Don't bother with the bolt on mods if you REALLY want to make it faster. Just go big or go home to be honest. As for appearence those mods are pretty good to start you off.

Yeah, I made the mistake of just being excited, bought a weapon r intake (stay away buy injen or k&n) and the 2.4 intake mani, and want more power. So I'm saving up to do a FI set up and suspension

But you have a nasty cobalt with one hell of a turbo, haha.
If you want to go turbo start saving and educating yourself. Hell you're in college research the **** out of turbo set ups, look at the build thread stickies. There are a few that have part lists and build how to. Even some of the guys on here are willing to help out if you truely are interested in modding your car

This. Reason why right now I'm focusing on suspension and handling. Getting ready to purchases some springs and I have summer tires on the car right now which have improved handling pretty noticeable. Once I get rid of that body roll, it'll be pretty nice. The only bolt on as far as power that I'll do will be almost the entire exhaust system as that can be used eventually when I supercharge the car.

Financial aid bro, im not on the streets obviously, but I don't have the cash to be throwing full kits on my car is what I'm saying, if I offended you I apologize but I am by no means well off. I can save like maybe 100 dollars from each paycheck and I get paid twice a month, so that's about 200 a month that I can dumb into my balt. That is why I posted this thread so that I could get some ideas on what to do and what to save for

hell, i'm poor. you gotta do it right the first time around though. wish i hadn't wasted the money i did on the bolt-ons and the nitrous kit i was running before going turbo. and just because appearance seems like the cheaper thing to do, it may not be if you're looking to get more out of your car. if you want performance, throwing money at the appearance will be an absolute waste of valuable time and money.

We're all poor because we can count our money. Lol. I just put the 2nd gen projectors in my car. Here's a night shot.
I got mine from K2 Motor. Cheapest I've seen plus free shipping unless you go through eBay.
Like everyone else has said though, it depends on what you want to get out of your car. To me, it comes down to speed or looks.
