Ingalls dampener

I was wondering would the Ingalls tork dampener work on a 2006 cobalt Lt

You need an aftermarket intake, the dampner won't fit because the stock airbox gets in the way.

It stops the engine from jerking inside of the engine bay = less wheel hop more traction easyer on tranny compnents and engine mounts.

Are you kidding? My car is as stock as it gets (doesn't even have options) and I get wheel hop like a motherf**ker on the 1-2 shift and on the launch if I let the clutch out too fast. I can chirp the 2-3 but haven't gotten wheel hop from it... yet.

either i'm a really good driver or your cars suck. i shift really hard from 1-2 all the time and have NEVER gotten wheel hop. only time i have hopped is on a launch. but that was only once.

You still get excessive vibrations in the 2.2 and the ingalls can help a little bit, new aftermarket mounts are the best way to fix it. But with that you'll get more cabin vibrations.

There was an engine mount change in 2006. The 2005 models (LSJ and L61) had two different bolt patterns, and the dampner bracket only fit on the LSJ. After 2006, they all had the same pattern.

I've spun all the way through first, never had wheel hop. Chirped in second, never had wheel hop...
Only time I've had "wheel hop" was when I jumped over railroad tracks the first day I got it. Yeahhhh.

when i let my gf drive my car I experienced plenty of wheel hop

really the only way u get wheel hop is if you're dumping the clutch at a high rpm which u shouldn't be doing anyway...

If you shift fast enough your car will still be at a high rpm when you get it into the next gear and im pretty sure if you racing you gonna get on and off the clutch as fast as you can and i guess that can be considered dumping the clutch.

I'm still running the stock continentals but last night I took off in 1st somewhere around 2000 rpms let it out slow and then punched just out of curiosity and def had some wheel hop.

i dont dump the clutch... and when i slip it, i have no wheel hop. I do however have TONS of hop in the rain; i let off slow and easy onto the gas, not even hard, and the whole car starts jumping.

no by dumping the clutch I mean reving to like 4K RPM and just letting your foot off the clutch vs easing your foot off the clutch...that is what will get you wheel hop. you have to ease off the clutch...
