glad to see you got on here!!!

hey all, russel lives close to me, we used my obd2 code reader and found he is throughing a random misfire code
p0300
his spark plugs *look* fine and his coil pack seems ok (from what i can see). we havent checked the fuel filter, he will be doing that in a few days. i didnt know if the cobalt injectors fit, but i had extras so i gave him my stockers as im not using them....didnt fit lol. but his look pretty dirty.
it sounds decent if you rev it up a little bit but it idles like ****, dies out, and has a hard time starting.

give him (and i) some help so we can get his ion running again!!!!

What year/engine/ecm is he running? What is his spark plug gap? How many miles has he been running those spark plugs? They may just need replacing. Have him throw some injector cleaner in with a full tank of gas and see if that helps out a bit. I know some people may argue either way if it actually works, but it cant hurt to give it a try.

car wont start, we ran a compression test today and got:
(from passenger to drivers side)
180psi
170psi
190psi
100psi

so he has a problem on the last cyl (#4 i believe)
as far as i could tell then...its either: piston rings, valves, or head gasket right??????

oh, and its a 2004 saturn ion, manual, 2.2l
and the spark plug to that cyl is black and fouled out at this point.
