Injen CAI sucked up water, engine hydrolocked...
Driving home from work for the first time with my cai, and it started sputtering real bad and finally shut off, my first thought was water went through the motor and i got rods outta the side of my motor. Pulled over to the median, and what did i see.....rods hanging out of my poor ecotec !?!?!?!?
LoL, just kidding. It was my first time driving in rain with my cai, no problems but i was being very cautious. Anybody else drive like that when its raining for fear of what i was joking about above ???

i don't worry about it because the water would have to cover the filter, which would be about 3 feet... if you're driving in 3 feet of water, you don't deserve the car and it's better off being destroyed in a puddle...

What a douche. I hope you do suck water into your intake and lock your engine. Ever think that actual scenario may have happened to other people, and you're joking about it???

Might as well stop breathing, too. What if we sucked in a fly, choked on it, and keeled over? Don't wanna make fun of those people that actually happened to!

the only car i ever heard of hydro lock from a cai is my ******* buddy who made one for his um colorado i think it was and drove into a four foot deep puddle . but thats just one extreme condition. you would never get hydro lock just from driving in the rain it would have to be alot of water to do that

Well I had a car stolen before and it was recovered on the side of a street in a rain storm, engine locked with a piston through the block, it was a shitty deal, and I dont see the point in joking about it. But to each his own I guess...

the stock air box resonator sits probably even lower than a CAI would... so wouldn't you be just as likely to suck up water if you don't have a cai? moral of the story is don't drive in a lake and you'll be ok

I came very close to Hydrolocking my Grand Am V6 the night before I traded it in for my SS/SC. Its not fun to have your engine just shut off after going through a huge puddle where they are doing construction. I was just hoping for it to make it to the dealership then. For the rest of the night, anytime the RPMs went over 2000, the engine shut off. I am a little nervous now about putting a CAI onto my Cobalt.
