i still think the injen CAI is the way to go and just remove the pipe section to converts for SRI when winter comes...thats what i am doin....and as one stated b4....it's all about a cooler incoming charge

i have the same setup... and the same problem... i put my CAI on about a month ago... i noticed a drop in low-end tourque, but a slight increase in power as the rpm's climb... and it sounds better than stock. i'll be converting to short ram come winter time like other people are saying because of the obvious risks of water damage... i did drive my friend's civic with a short ram, and the power and sound increases are better than mine at lower rpm's, but i think i could smoke him... lol

I chose the SRI for ease of installation, the look of it, ease of cleaning....etc.etc.
I also am very hesitant about hydro-locking. I know it takes alot but when we get floods in jersey, we get FLOODS...lol
so I didn't really want to worry about it

When i first got mine i had it as short ram, did alittle around town driving, then hit the highway and was disappointed, I like to fly up the on ramps and hit the higher rpms and i didn't notice any positive difference. I switched it to cold air and i was happier, it liked the higher rpms alittle more and i could tell, I might switch back in the winter but i don't know, i will probably drive the truck in the winter so it really won't matter.

i agree on the ram air. but dont be fooled.... a lower car and CAI def puts u at a good risk of hydro locking.... and to me the cost of a new engine outweighs the 2-4 hp u would get from a CAI. just my .02 tho

Right on man. My CAI and my sportlines together is a risk. Last month when it was raining damn near every day, I was getting worried. I had no problems though, not that I couldn't have. And welcome to the site!
