that would be your bottom part of your intake..dont know specific name. But should harm anything seeing as your intake is not going down there.

save it for a day that you have nothing to do..its a bitch

gotta take the headlight out, headlight bracket, then fish it out of there.

great fun

you dont need to take the headlights out. just take your front passenger wheel off and go in through the fender wall. take all of the bolts off and its a sheet of plastic that peels back. it will give you enough room to remove the stock intake and intall the CAI.

There is a how too and i did it through the headlight hole, there is one bolt and one plastic clip. undo those and stretch the headlight hole a little to fit it up through.

I think it's just some sort of resonator; because when I took mine out, it was a hell of a lot louder at WOT.

yeah, for me it was a pain to get it out from the headlight hole so I ended up just taking it out from underneath

Its there as a noise emissions control(keeps it quieter) it also makes it much harder for the air filter to get wet and the car to suck in water.

Either way if that is yours in the pic that isnt a CAI it is a SRI and you can rip that bitch out unless you have a gaping hole in the bumper right infront of it and have 3 ft snow coming in.

Yeah rip it out, unless you get a 3 foot high water swell up to the fenderwell through the plastic, you won't have to worry about it sucking up water...I ran mine without it for about 10,000 through monsoon season here in town and the stupid plastic around the bottom of the car protects the majority of water from getting anywhere near there.
