installing injen intake
so i just bought an injen intake since it was the best price i have seen at $265. i want to install it before the columbus meet, but i only have my basic hand tools on me (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) since i moved a month ago. so my question is, to actually put it on as the cai, will i need to jack it up and take the wheel off to get into the fender well. or will i be able to undo the inner fender to get enough access to mounting it?
but i havent decided if i will set it up as the cai since on a normally rainy day, i plow through water pretty heavily. im sure i would be fine, but im a cautious person (to an extent )

all your going to need is a socket wrench, i think a regular wrench, and some screw drivers
and no you dont have to take the wheel or the headlight off. just crank the wheel all the way to the right and that will give you enough clearance to get the fender liner off far enough

its probably going to take longer than 20 minutes to do, if your doing it the way i suggested because getting to the bolt that holds on the vibration mount is a bitch. and if you have a buddy or something that wouldnt mind helping out i suggest it, especeially if its your first time installing

Really easy and as for the rain just get a Injen Hydrosheild
I've had no problems and we had plenty of heavy rain days around here

Hey, I just installed one a week ago on my 05 2.2l
All you need is a socket set, think all i used was 10mm and maybe 7mm.
A screwdriver.
A t-30 torx wrench. Torx is the star shaped allen wrenches.
There's a nice how to in the how to section, just go there and search or injen.
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ighlight=injen
theres the link.
No jacking the car up and no removing the headlights!
VERY easy, should take about a half hour or so.
My tip is be very careful when putting the lower section of the intake in.
It's very easy to scratch it.

I did an 05 basebalt by going through the wheel well, and I didnt jack the car up or (obviously) take the wheel off.
It can be done, it just takes a bit more patience.

taking forever to get intake!!!!!! as of now, i am moving back with my dad (my roommate has serious issues and cant handle responsibilities). so now i will have some extra money, and im going to fix my new daily driver i bought and do something with the cobalt that i want to do.
so the intake i just bought will be worthless after a while. and i thought about the dc exhaust, but i hate the tip on it. i usually just do custom exhausts. and i will especially now since im going to run a 3" exhaust. yes thats right 3" because my plans are to turbo it. when i get paid, im buying the turbo manifold so i will pretty much have to do it. i just havent decided if i want to use the carputing software or just run an eic. i guess which ever is cheaper i will do, though i wont be cheaping out to say he least.
