intake question

someone told me that if you get an intake and not an exhaust, your gas mileage will go right down the drain. Is this true?

MPG's are "supposed" to go up but on this car u probably wont notice a difference...ive only seen i very noticeable difference when i did it on vehicles with a v-6(the only other types ive done) like my chevy blazer and my bro's accord. My blazer jumpe up about 3mpgs and throttle response got a LOT better

I think gas mileage has more to do with driving style (city v highway, how fast you take

off at every stop, how far you coast before you stop, etc) then mods. I have added

a CAI and GM stage 2 and my mileage has stayed the same (checking with every

fill up using miles driven and gas used).

Im averaging 27-28 mpg

fyi

Anytime you make it easier for your engine to work, it only helps. But with a four cylinder the effects probably aren't that much anyway.
