Just A few Questions
I hate to make my first post so long but i had a few questions and most of the people on here seem pretty smart so here I go.
1. i have a 2.2 l LS model i like it but it needs some more ***** money is not to much of a problem and im looking to have some fun with the car what are some recomendations fro reaching approximately 200 - 250 hp without comprimising the enigine to much.
2. where can i get a nice 5 or 6 speed manual transmission i like the auto and all but you lose way to much power due to the torque converter and you dont have the same feel for the ride you get from a manual trans.
3.any good sites for a good looking body kit? i have not seen to many good looking ones for the cobalt yet

SCT is about to release tuning for the 2.2 for a turbo. You should check that out. Don't think theres a 6 speed tranny though. JBP might be working on one. I haven't really checked up on it. If you really want a manuel transmission though, I think you might come out better just buying the manuel. And if the money wasn't really an issue, why the LS???

It depends on how much money you're looking to invest...I'd suggest reading this for starters to get a good idea: http://www.ecotecforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2435
As far as cost effectiveness...it's more cost effective to keep your automatic transmission and upgrade it than it is to change out for a 5-speed manual. You can use the same 5-speed they make for your model/engine but transmission changes are very involved and if you don't know how to do it, you're going to be paying ALOT of money to have a professional to do so. This on top of buying all the necessary parts.
If you have anymore questions, just ask.

First off welcome.
Second dont be affraid to use everyones friend the SEARCH button.
Thirdly doing a tranny swap to a 5 speed would be costly, getting the tranny itself, the tcm, hooking it up, installing etc.. Your best bet is trade in for a manual if you so desperately want it.
Fourthly making your engine have 200 to 250 hp. is going to be fun yet somewhat expensive. If you want it at the push if a button then go for a simple nitrous install. 75 shot is the most a stock 2.2 can handle routinly. Theres also of course CAI's by Injen, Aem, and Weapon-R, Fujita, and a few other short rams are around too. Exhausts are easy to come by, just check the vendors. Dont go over 2.5" in a catback though or you'll lose power. A good header and downpipe also compliment an entire exhaust setup. With these mods listed you could look at somewhere around...170 hp to the wheels or so. (Rough estimates) Tuning will of course free up some lost ponies floating around also. Anymore "mods" and you'll be looking at forced induction, higher compression etc...
Body Kits are numerous, check the supporting vendors sites!
P.s. DAMN IT ADAM YOU BEAT ME!
