just got a custom exhaust...lol

i know this thread is useless without pics/clips, so after i take a shower i will get a clip. it doesnt sound that great...its 2.25 CRUSH bent( ) from right after the flange that connects the resonator to the downpipe. its not loud, its just kinda...slightly high pitched a little? i dont knwo, its hard to explain. if you like magnaflows exhaust you will probably like mine, then again i dont like magnaflows exhaust personally..lol. will be a clip soon.. but until then for your viewing pleasure...heres a clip of me in my focus owning an rsx type s off the line til lame 'vtec' kicks in.

Sadly, all the combined torque of these motors and HP still doesn't = the same output of one domestic car

should be any time now, its uploading now. turns out i dont like it as much as i thought. its pretty high pitched, especially for being a catback, i have a resonator i can put on there but i'm afraid it will be too quiet. its already pretty quiet just odesnt have a good sound. this is only temporary, til i can save up enough for a flowmaster.(sounds good on a cobalt w/ resonator). i'm just impatient and had to have an exhaust.

My brother has 2.25 crush piping on his 2.2 base coupe with no resonator and an ebay oval muffler, not one of those ricey fart cans. It sounds pretty nice for only costing around $175. His muffler was like $20. It sounds a tad bit ricey but it doesn't have any raspy noise at all. I kinda like his.

ok heres a picture of the muffler, i had it on my focus at one point in time, i took it off because it was too quiet, sounded fine though.

and heres the clip: the high pitched scratching sound at the top of revs is the camera, not the exhaust lol:P

In my opinion, all high flowing exhausts will sound very very similar on the same car.

btw, when it backfires/rumbles/crackles/whatever you want to call it, thats not a bad thing is it? that doesnt mean my engines gonna explode or something right? someone said that means that the engine is running lean but i dont see how my exhaust would make that happen.

it is just the relief of backpressure...small ones dont hurt but none are "good" for the car...if it is real loud then you need to check it out

Sorry, I'm not sure about the backfiring thing, I just wanted to let you know that the tip looks great! I really like the way it looks coming out of the back bumper. Very Nice!!

Mine pops a lot....not nearly as much as an srt4 but it pops. They aren't loud though. Quick question: If I were to go to about 5000 rpm in first gear and let off the gas to get a huge pop, would that mess up my engine? I've done it once but the car gets too jerky that high of rpm in 1st gear.

i dont see how the backfiring would mess up an engine, so i doubt it, unless the pop didnt come from your exhaust. and that is the razzi lip kit on my car

you should hear the sounds that come outta my exhaust... especially on 1-2 shift and 2-3 shifts (at 7200 rpm) sounds like a shotgun blast....

The poping/crackling type noise that happens when decelerating (like the srt4s are so know for) is the sound of your motor leaning out the fuel mixture for the drop in rpms. It doesn't mean your car is running lean it means you have a very free flowing muffler so you can hear the strange sounds. As far as a big boom sounding like a shotgun; that usually come from unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust.
