L61 to lsj swap

Their kit would be less headache, however the lsj head would be a nice compliment to a hybrid build. You max 250hp on stock internals of the l61. Also, a tune file would have to me made since nobody really supports the l61 Pcm. I'm in the infancy of my build myself and things may have changed.

Yeah, if you've got the LSJ with all of the supercharger parts, salvage them off the motor. You could salvage the rods from the LSJ as they are semi forged, but you would have to get custom pistons. You dont have to buy new, as said, but really all you need to do is forge the bottom end and upgrade the clutch on the L61 to make some pretty decent power. Should remain reliable to 300hp at that point.

No, you dont need the custom parts to make it work. Really the only custom part from ZZP for the 2.2 is the idler pulley that uses a single sided 5 rib belt. If you use the LSJ parts, you can take a stock length double sided 6 rib and carefully cut a rib off cause you'll have hell trying to find a double sided 5 rib in the correct length. Ask me how I know. lol. I'm told that you can swap the LSJ alternator and crank pulley and then just use a standard 6 rib belt. But on a 3.1 pulley with an L61 crank pulley, the stock length belt damn near maxes out the tensioner assembly because the L61 crank pulley is a bit larger in diameter than the LSJ. But yeah, really all the parts you'll need, minus internals and clutch are right there on the LSJ motor.
But you could even part out the LSJ motor when your done salvaging parts off, and make part of your money back.

Yeah. I ended up paying about $2000 for all the parts I needed, then the tune. Dont forget that you'll still have to get an AFR and boost gauge, heater hose, plugs, probably change the supercharger oil, coolant, heat exchanger, and other small odds and ends, but once you part out the motor or sell it outright, you shouldnt have much other out of pocket costs.
