Line lock is actually used to lock up the brakes for dragsters so they can warm up the tires before a launch. install the line lock button on your steering wheel and hold it while on the gas. It will keep the brakes in FULL LOCK on the rear or front (rear for us FWD guys) when you release the button off you go. If you have ever seen a pro stock car power brake more times than not they have line lock to the front brakes. It would help the front brakes out a ton and its just a release to go to normal!

And ya, for a street legal FWD, e-brake is easier. It won't hold, but it will give you a little pre-load.

I have an 05 LS auto and mine rev's to 4000, not 2400, and I've seen this on several auto cobalts as well, you might want to double check.

mine also rev's up to around 4k no problem, 2400 seems a little low.

Yea it may be cheaper but it doesnt stress out everything as much it just shuts down the master cylinder and puts pressure on the system and holds it there. but your ebrake does the same just justnt release as quick and you have to move it when line lock you just release the button. IMHO

If I was going to drag race a car it would be automatic. You can't shift faster, and they are consistent numbers, no missing gears. Everyone has a different reason for getting their car. So don't bash others becuase its either what they can afford/want!!

Then you are not brake torquing. 4000 sounds like the fuel cut off while reving in neutral. Brake torquing is done while in gear. If you are hitting 4000 RPM brake torquing, your car is seriously broken.

ok, ill do it in two different ones. They will both be 2.2L, auto, base cobalts. exact same cars except for different vin numbers.

Yep, 2300-2400. tried two different ones.
Only got about 1800 in an ss 2.4, but it was low on fuel, that might have affected it.

my auto lt i usually launch at about 1800 w/ toyo proxys and i dont have a problem with spinning them but on stocks idk

oh and i dont think hes brake torqueing at 4000 his nuetral only revs to 4k, same as mine i think all the autos do that.

all auto cobalts maybe, my friends S10 is auto and it revs to 5500 in park.

I launch at 2500 rpms on power braking but. u just have to have your timing all right to get a good launch

my reaction times are usually between .03 and .1. I have no trouble with good reaction times I just cant get decxent 60ft times, my lowest 60ft is around 2.485 and that was my first run ever with the car I havent been able to get that good a time since. I kept launcing it a t 3k and then I tried at 2k and knock a tenth off. i dunnow at to do Im thinking about new tires, Falken FK451 or 452
