left or right?

somebody mention to me that the 2005 intake goes to the divers side and the 2006 intake goes to the pasengers side ,, ok ,, my question is can I buy a 2005 injen intake and put it on an 06?

and don't quote me on this, but i believe the 2.2 and 2.4 go towards the passenger side, and it's the SS/SC that goes towards the driver's side.

i THINK that the cavalier went to the one side and the cobalt goes to the other. thats why a lot of parts don't fit one or the other.

I was under the impression that the 2.2 / 2.4l all had passenger-side airboxes, while the SS/SC was driver. I don't think model year has anything to do with it. Could be wrong, though...

Edit: Like 5 people posted while I typed this, but at least someone agrees with me.

The 2.2 from 05 to 06 is exactly the same...some of the options and packages I think changed, but under the hood it's the same car.

ok I was confuced becase there is an other thread about a cmi and it went to the drivers side,,,,, and yes Im looking to buy it used , and dont want to make a mistake and it doesnt fit..

I know for the 2.2 / 2005 cobalt it goes towards the passenger side. I just put my intake in.

2.4, i couldnt tell ya.. dont know

the SS is the only one who draws air in from the drivers side.

All other Cobalt models draw air from the passanger side fender.

There is your answer.

that was a custom done intake he did that to make sure there wasn't any clearnace issuses with the torque brace

if you buy one it goes to the pass side

yea they should be the same as long as they have no form of forced induction. My gf has an 03 sunfire that has a 2.2L in it as well and it also has the intake on the passanger side
