look at trans !!!
i just wanted to tell every one to take a look at there transmission every now and then if you spin your tires alot i noticed that i was leaking trans fluid out around my axels but wasent ever leaving any spots and it was slowly draining the fuild. my axle seals were riped due to exsesive wheel spin and axle hoping. axle seals are cheaper than a trans. and found that my trans fluid was low meaning more heat and friction good thing i calt this before it realy cost me so
if you drive hard or spin your tires alot keep an eye on these mainly the short axle "drivers side"

there's a little dipstick on the tranny housing. shine a light down into the engine bay and you'll find it.
i always check MY fluid now because i blew a transmission on my saturn, probably from a little leak.
****. i just realized i stated the obvious

there is no dipstick for the manual trans on the 2.2L. You have to get under the car and loosed a check plug on the driver side of the transmission. It is a pain in the ass to reach the plug too!!

wheel hop will definitely cause all this, but wheel spin not so much

s-series saturn? if so, did the differential blow out? if so, you had a little roll pin, that retains the diff pin, break and all hell broke loose. wheel hop and wheel spin can cause this, basically anytime the differential was "shocked"

haha... that was the problem!! i was just driving down the highway at normal speeds, then i heard a:
BAM pingpingpingpingpingPINGPINGPINGPINGPING
and the clutch pedal went all rubbery. didnt think too much of it till we got home and tried putting some tranny fluid in it and saw the tranny fluid coming out of a baseball-sized hole in the bottom of the housing. the car made it all the way to the door of the our mechanic's garage before the tranny seized.
200 bucks later, new transmission and clutch!

Anyways I thought there was no dipstick on the autos? We have an oil dipstick, but I don't see one for my tranny.

The transmissions on the L61 cars do not have dipsticks. They are designed to be "service free" units, so they didn't include one. To check the fluid level on these transmissions, you are supposed to put the car on a lift, have the engine running, and from underneath remove a small plug in the trans. If fluid spits out, your good. If not, add fluid until it does spit at you. I'm completely serious.

this is primarily from wheel hop. if you get CAB or an ETD or both it should help you. I know the SS/SC's are having issues with the oil from the tranny getting to the clutch and causing problems because the vibrations from the wheel hop compomise the seals on the tranny
