I remember seeing a post about your set up. I plan on doing the same thing hopefully this summer.

this is bad, but not as bad as the other guy.
I remember that horrible intake. That was a fresh-from-the-trailer-park mod.

yea i agree with every one take it off, i did it just for a laugh one night and it was not good at all, it hurt my car and you could feel the decrease it gave. grant it i only had it on for like a day at the longest as i said it was only to see what it would do. i did the airbox mod and used that hose as more of the lower half of the box. if you take out all the lower section of tubing leaving in the lower box piece you can run that hose from an opening and it will go straight to the box and filter. this is not a real hp gain but my car does run cooler and it does get air great just by that.

cool. one of the pipes has to be cut at an angle for it to fit, other than that it's smooth sailing.

D4, so you added that pipe and then did the airbox mod? I was looking at this today in my car and didn't have a smile when I took a look at mine. Did the sound change at all with that? I was looking for the airbox mod and found this, its for the SS but think it should work? no?

basically what i did was kept the hookups for the sai so the car is happy, and eliminated all of the restriction. intake resonator is gone, that big ass box that sits on the throttle body is gone, and the piping inbetween is gone. is it faster? i don't know. but i'm guessing it would be similar to a cai, i don't see what the difference would be. tubing is tubing. the thing that i DO notice is that my mileage jumped up over 2 mpg since i put it on. at the current price of gas this mod pays for itself in about a month.

it's just a 3in pipe that i got at a muffler shop, it was 40$ the other 90 Degree Elbow pipe i got from pepboys. It's gettting painted right now. It's just a two part intake with 3 intake boots to make it fit.

ok, so I made a bad all. It worked, it actually did. but I got a CEL today, so i threw the stock intake back on and it was a noticeable loss of power. I don't know if the light had anything to do with it or not but i'm guessing it did.

I'll have to give it to my little brother and have him pawn it off to some kid with a honda.

not really, in a way i kind of think that, the plastic tubbing could be better, because it doesnt get as hot as metal does from the engine. thus giving cooler air into the engine.

reason why i know its plastic, is because i have the same thing in mine. with a cone filter on the end of it. ill take pics and post it for you guys

its not a crappy plastic is it deff pretty durable.

couple things... take the extender off your oil cap, and get a filter for your sai line in the airbox... looks like you're just letting it suck up unfiltered air.

i don't think it makes a difference. if it's smooth piping it's smooth piping. it's really sturdy, i stepped on it by mistake and it didn't crack...

it sucks air into the engine.

i have the stock maf hookup, and it looks like the other guy does as well.

ok so its an air inlet... what would happen if completly blocked it of and no air was getting in?

And for the MAF sensor, i thought it was the stock peice, but i wasn't sure....

I'll have to see if someone is selling a stock intake, because i don't want to cut it off of there and then end up screwing iit up somewhere along the way

Also to the kid that tried this plastic ripple intake... I know everyone says its bad for you car, but i noticed ont he stock intake there is ripple peice on there as well... so i'm willing to bet that its pretty much just as good as the stock intake, condsidering there both rippled
