if he smashed his valves, his engine would be rocking back and forth. i am assuming something has happened in the head though, whether timing chain jumped a tooth or a lifter gave out.

Yeah, bypass valve would be a good place to look. If its stuck open you arent getting much boost at all. Dont know if yours is controlled by a vacuum diaphram or by the ecm(probably ecm), but id look into it.

Thanks banker. Was just takin a stab in the dark having no personal experience with a sc. Figured a modern car would have electricly controlled valve.

I know balter, but I dont have HPT, nor do I know what Im doing if I had one. And no, I dont have anyone to test blowers with.. I wish I did. Haha Id be testing everything he had with mine. And the entire intake has been redone, with tthe same boost readings, so Im sure there are no leaks. I just got a new by-pass the same time I redid the intake. And no way man haha if anything was wrong internally, Id feel, I know that for sure. Thats the thing, the car runs great! No overheating, good idle, great sound, just during acceleration theres so much drag.. It is as slow as if the blower wasnt on. And my vacuum at idle was at like 18-20, and started to get to 19+ when it was warmer. Tomorrow will be judgement day. Im going over my friends house and running every possible test. At the moment, he brought up the idea of a bad FPR, such as I did. Well check for fuel pressure tomorrow. Nervous and excited, want this thing to run right.

you're getting too much fuel and running super rich under boost. that is my diagnosis. and if it's the otherway around where you're running too lean, get ready to rebuild an engine.

Alright the tests are in, the car is fine, engine is fine, even the regulator is fine, fuel pressure changed drastically when unplugged. My friend thinks its a clogged cat cause there are practically no exhaust gases getting out of the tailpipe. Although, I lost that assumption awhile ago, because I read many places that boost should increase when you have exhaust restrictions?? Other than that, everything makes sensse thatd it be a clogged cat. Going to take it out Saturday and maybe gut it out. But, someone please clear this up for me.. Should boost increase or decrease when thre is a restriction in the exhaust? Cause I already have low boost as it is.. With no boost leaks..

it would increase and your cat would be red hot. get a video of the car. have you checked your timing chain and tensioner?

I dont think that would be the case all the time.. And Im wondering if I have exhaust leaks.. but that doesnt make any sense. How much boost should a stock m62 have on a l61? My boost is at 4-6 psi, well at least last time I checked and had a gauge plugged in. The car is so much quieter, reduced power, but idles and drives fine as can be.

And no I havent checked my timing chain. My friend said everything is fine and I believe it is too.

You would know if you had exhaust leaks. Wait so you're telling me that you don't have a vac/boost gauge at all times? Just because your friend said its fine, doesn't mean it is. Gm created a new tensioner because pre 07 ecotecs had faulty tensioners

^ I may need a tensioner...
hmm if the cat was clogged it would make lots of sense. It'd be as if you were taking deep breaths and exhaling with your mouth shut Nd covering up one.nostril and.having sinus problems :P
