yes, you are gonna ned a DP WITh a cat, but you dont necessarily need a muffler, it just makes the exhaust quiter if you buy the right one.

Like others have said. Run straight pipe.
When you get tickets and/or come back complaining. We told you sold.
But if you want loud I got a summit racing muffler and put it on. I was heard 3 city blocks away without getting on it. When I got on it you saw everyone look at me cussing. And all the civics frown as they were loud and slow and i was louder than them and faster than them.
Then I went to a custom setup with a flowmaster 40 series and a glasspack. Nice deep tone until I got on it then sounded like a regular 4cyl. Nothing like a civic though.
Don't you drive a automatic if you do you get this treat.

Just go to a auto parts place buy a 18" glasspack and a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. Get your tip at walmart.
Go to a exhaust shop have them cut out a section and put glasspack in kind of in the middle of the car. Remove old muffler I mean backpack and run piping to 40 series then to the tip. You'll be satisfied.
Also make sure you get a straight straight muffler. I got a straight and side muffler and had a issue with vibrations since I was lowered. It hit the rear spring a lot because it was being pushed over.
~$200 bucks and I gained maybe 5 or 6whp. You don't get a lot of power from exhaust systems. My biggest gain exhaust wise was getting a header.
