so last night i got my lsj header and dp on and took the god damn SAI system out completely.

and now i hear something vibrating or rattling at idle when its in drive and then it goes away once i start moving or put it in neutral and then it comes back with a VENGEANCE at 2500-3000k rpm, and then also while making a right hand turn, not even a 90 degree turn like a light sweeping corner.

its really starting to **** me off. does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be and what i could do to fix it?!?!?!?!?!

maybe because the cat is bigger its hitting something? i just don't know what.

Cliff notes: help me fix my LSJ header and DP rattle!!!!

im not really sure but my car ticks at idle because of my cat converter cooling down. idk if that helps.

mine does the same thing ever since i installed my lsj header, but it's not as intense as yours seems to be. mine only clanks when i go over speed bumps/potholes or when i almost kill the car.

ohhh no. lol mine does it at like 2500 to 3k under like half throttle and when i make turns.

i looked in my engine bay and saw that the cat is REALLY close to that sway bar or whatever suspension component is under the cat. and looks like one corner has rubbed off the paint.

anyone know how to raise the cat a little bit?

would i have to rig up some kind of zip tie on one of my hangars for my catback to pull the system away from the bar?!

i never thought this was going to be a PITA

mine does it almost all the time. and i think i traced the idle noise down to my ******* uncle using band clamps to tie the hangers in the rear together cause my catback was wagging like a happy puppies tail.

but that doesnt explain why its hitting that lower brace when i go half throttle.

Its because you have an automatic.. The engine sits differently. Sorry, but you will need to get a new downpipe, or have an exhaust shop modify yours..

Racing solution is coming out with a DP for the auto 2.2. It will be 2.5 inch, catted and I think about 199 brand new.

what do you all think about me just wrapping the sway bar in header wrap. that will stand up to the heat and shouldnt rub through.

I just converted my Injen to CAI from SRI and I got that sound. Are you sure this sound wasn't there before? I don't have any other performance mods right now that are installed and I noticed this. Also when I start the car, the intake knocks against the front of the engine bay. I tried adjusting it and it doesn't matter, it still hits and rubs. I decided to put some weatherstripping across the part that knocks and it helps a bit. I don't really hear the intake vibrating against the engine bay anymore.

That part may be unrelated to the exh. mani and dp for you as well.

lol no. i had the cold air intake on for about 2 months before this. this noise started RIGHT after i put the DP on.

and i looked at it today and noticed that it looks like paint is coming off of the sway bar.

does anyone think if i somehow pull the catback UP against the hangar near the center of the car it will make this better?
