Canada M62's turbo build

M62's L61 build Thread

I've been doing this build for two years down time, saving every penny I could and figured im close enough to the finish line where I can start posting photos and asking important questions with the community here.

I live in Calgary but am from Kelowna so I got there often next time I'm there if you're around we could go for a cruise.

I heard there were problems running such stiff valvesprings I would go with Supertech 78# or ZZPs. The 94# are rough on the timing chain

Why are you still using the heat exchanger? I don't see any water to air intercooler in your system.

Ditch those worm clamps on the charge pipes and get tbolts or you'll pop couplers off every boost hit

So the car is up and running, Everything is fine except for a high idle which im assuming is the IAC.When i put the car quickly under drivetrain load it bogs down And i put it back into neutral.Somehow this makes it idle normally?! When i shift into neutral moving the rpm's shoot up until i put it under load again any thoughts or suggestions?

Awesome! I have almost this same build. But I have a s256 zzp, Vulcan manifold, 2.4tb and patriot head. Just be easy on the trans and don't agressively shift. Oh, and enjoy being fast!

I have a ion and the b&g coilovers from back when they came out as my cars a bit outdated now. You will need Coilovers to hook well. Make the back stiff and try to make the front lower so more weight is on the front. I can hook 20psi on a 235 tire but after that it don't hook amazing. Not a rolling smoke show though.

I guess my computer managed to relearn its own idle after driving it for about 50km's.It idles around 875rpm- 900rpm and the revs fall down normally when shifting. Now for tuning Im not sure what site im supposted to buy a Trifecta Tune from?! there's like three of them and they all have different pricing on each of the sites. Can anyone tell me which site i should buy the cable and tune from?! Im running stock injectors right now and want to run my 80#'s but obviously i blow black smoke without a tune.

So When I unplug my map sensor i can boost all I want. With it plugged in i can go to 3k rpms which is when my turbo spools before hitting limp mode.I took off my muffler and i can boost on/off with the map sensor plugged in.Just trying to figure out what's exactly causing limp mode before i buy a tune, I know its a stupid idea to run without a map sensor because the input stays at 10kpa.Will a Trifecta tune sort this out or do i need to buy a 3bar map sensor or something?!

Surprisingly, The stock computer is really capable of learning and adapting to all the **** i've changed on it.IT ran with 60#'s almost fine at idle when the computer was fresh but it was black smoke obviously.I tried putting the 60#'s back in after the computer relarned the idle control n such but it wouldn't run long enough to even get my foot off the gas pedal haha

all that limp mode and stuff will be fixed with trifecta tune. You can stay with stock map just let them know lol.

Exactly, when i put a TVS on my LE5 i had limp mode. Vince had to fix it, i'd go with a tuner who uses HPT and is hands on. **** the remote tune ****

Also i'd get rid of the breather, your pulling in un metered air

Turbo Tech Racing, KY stage 3 or 4 if you want to go all out, should hold 400 ft lbs then the stage 4 you won't get to slip.

Even with a built engine I'd be too worried to run it untuned.

As for the HPT comment, he can't get it, HPT didn't unlock this computer only Trifecta.

I was in the same boat then E37 beta came out, I believe its supports the 2.2 along with my 2.4 LE5 2008...
