How the MAF sensor operates is that it measures incoming air and according to how cool the wire gets, the more air is assumed to be coming in, the higher voltage signal is sent to the PCM and that's how much fuel is sprayed in relation. If oil is getting on the wire, it's not reading the incoming air properly, so in turn, it thinks that you're running lean condition.

Yeah the oiled air filter is killing your MAF man, just get a can of brake cleaner or starting fluid, a super light spray on it be careful you don't damage it. You might have to spray/test more than once to get it clean enough. I have the ebay CAI too, but it's with a dry flow filter that came with it. does good too, no codes as of yet. Whats weird for me is I put the K&N replacement for the stock air filter for about 3,000 miles and I never had a problem before I switched to the CAI, odd.....
The way a MAF works is the cooling of the platinum wire inside the MAF is directly proportionate to the amount of air flowing over it. So a too lean code could be coming from that wire reading a small amount of air and the sensors in the car noticing a lot of air actually in there and almost no fuel because the MAF is messed up.....
