What size resonator you gunna get? I think i'm going with a 14 inch from mandral exhaust then it'll be all welded on.

i bought the 14 inch model because the 18 will almost be too big to fir on the exhaust piping. But i bought it from a different company on ebay for 58 dollars shipped instead of 70, only reason i did that is because i didnt know they would weld it on for me if i bought the res with it.

You have already boght the system

You have already bought the system. I would install it as is and see how you like it. If it is to loud then start changing it by adding resonator or changing mufflers.

Not true. Hangers match the OEM ones and overall it looks very well-made. Welds are perfect. IMO one of the best well-made exhaust systems. Magnaflow is known for that.

To the OP, install it it and see how it sounds. You have a 2.2 so it will sound differently than on our 2.0s. I have listened to GMPP, Borla, and Megan exhaust, and Magnaflow sounded better than any of these. Glad I purchased mine.

my buddy with the s/c 2.2 bought from mendrel bent exhaust, he paid the extra 70 bucks to have a magnaflow resonator installed, sounds nice...i wouldnt go with out a res. on his it weas straight border line for my tatse, and he had it on for a month before the blower went on, but than again i installed the vibrant header/dp and exhaust all at once, so it might not be as bad if you have your stock header/dp

well I am installing the LSJ dowpipe with the stock header, then putting this cat back on. So i dont think it'll be too loud.

Also, how did the install go with his exhaust??

really easy install, cut the old one off, put the new one on, i woudl recommend putting it in from the front of the car and work your way back, we did it reverse and fucked ourselves, ahahah we had to go back and undo it all to start over

lol thats the way i figured i would do it. how did you go about taking off the Downpipe? did you loosen the bolts that connect the downpipe to the header from under the hood or from beneath the car?

well none the less...im running sportlines on my 2.0L
u know that over-axle piece that u have? the overall arc was bent too much eg. its arcing too much
the top of the arch hits the hanger on my balt wen i hit minor bums on the road....
and overall the straight through area (where ur gonna weld ur reso) is too long...
and the end part is too short...my tip doesnt stick out as much as the stock...
i did trying to extend it by not inserting the pipes as much as i could but i heard leaks
overall 250 exhaust came to about 500-600...cause of all the **** i had to do...reso/reweld/new overaxle

my buddies cost him 350 after everything after he bought, after he had them put a magnaflow resonator on it, and after he took it to a shop to have it welded, in the end cheaper than what the real one did, i think they screwed u on the welding

if you go though my images u can see how i had to tilt the over-axle piece just cause
it wasnt designed for a lowered cobalt....which makes me very
cause i definitly have a very very nice deep tone...and i can definitly feel the extra performance
but wen i go on bums i hear a knocking sound.

well depends how ur version of the exhaust is...
like i said my tip doesnt stick out like the stock...its kinda hidden..cause all the joints are pushed right into each other then clamped (no leaks)
i tried moving it further out but then the joints werent as tight and i heard leaks in that case u might wanan weld

Ok guys, I installed this system on my 2.2 with the 14" resonator today. I used the stock 2 cat downpipe that came with the vehicle because I am pulling my hair out trying to find a decent welding/muffler shop to weld in an extra 02 bung in my LSJ downpipe. I expect it to be much deeper whenever i install the LSJ downpipe but overall it turned out very well.

Fitment Issues: None at all. I did notice that this system works out a little better with a 2.2 rear bumper because of how far the tip sits under the car. But for us 2.2 guys, it went right into the stock location. This is a deep mellow sounding exhaust and i would reccomend it like others already have. Only took about an hour and a half to install it because i had to use floor jacks, i dont have a convenient lift to use

I will have sound clips up a little later tonight!

This is the clip. Kinda short but you get the idea. My camera doesnt like to record much video.
