Manifold Leak?

So me, my father which is a mechanic and the local muffler shop seem to think that the leak is coming from the flex pipe.. took it to a GM dealer because it was throwing codes as well, hoping to get it done by the emissions warranty... they came back and said the leak was coming from the manifold itself, when asked about a price he just goes "alot" and sent me on my way...

Does anyone know roughly how much thats gonna cost me? or are they just dicking me around u reckon :s

Exhaust mani? Contact mongorat and get urself a used one for less that 40 shipped..... That's what I did

Just buy a used one, and bolt it on yourself.

It's not hard. Don't go to dealerships for things like this.

I know it seems like a no brainer to just replace the manifold, the only thing is my buddy had the same sound, only a little worse and it ended up being the flex pipe and got it all replaced for free.


mine is almost exactly the same, maybe a tiny bit quieter to this sound.

An exhaust leak will sound the same no matter where it is.

Inspect your flex pipe, if you see an carbon build up inspect in that area further.

Remove the heat shield for the manifold as well. They are known to crack in the collector area.

My flex just broke and it was super loud...now its quieter
