Red face Mixed Reviews on SS Exhuast, need input

I have searched and read all the forums i can find on the SS exhuast on a 2.2L, but the opinons have been mixed. Since most of the posts were from a while back I would like an updated opinion.

I can get the exhuast from a local buddy for like $20. Would there be much of a difference if I swapped out the whole catback for mine?

Please post opinions!

Hell, you could get it and resale it on eBay at the very least...

if i were you i would just buy a monza catback, theyre cheap and sound awesome, and youll get more performance gains than from the ss exhaust.. thats just my opinion

you will get better performance over stock, but not as good as an aftermarket. they are slightly larger than stock on our cars, and for $20, you can't beat it. They do get slightly smaller in parts, which adds restriction, which is not optimal for an exhaust. as stated ^^ you can get the pacesetter for cheap, i got mine for 169 and it sounds great and you can feel the difference... but, again, for $20 can't beat it, at least until you can save up for something better.

I have the SS exhaust. For $20 you really can't beat it. It doesn't sound drastically different from stock but once you take off your stock piping and compare it to the SS setup you will see the SS is much wider. I felt a little extra kick from my seat of the pants dyno. With the larger piping there is certainly some peSormancPincreaT howev= minim1 it ma1be.
