muhaha my newest mod
well, i've been saving money, and so far had about 150 bucks. i couldnt figure out what mod to spend it on next. well anyways, i'm at work , and some dude in a cobalt that lives a couple of blocks behind my work pulls up, and is like hey..i'm selling my car, i just bought a header but i dont need it , do you want to buy it? i'm like sure.
brand new still in box, pacesetter header with all the hardware and stuff for 150 bucks! i couldnt pass it up. i was originally wanting the gmpp header, but hey..its a deal.
these are just optional questions, they arent what the thread is about so i cant be flamed for not searching lol!
isnt this the header that is REQUIRED to cut and weld? i was thinking about installing it myself but i cant do those things. i guesss i'm gonna try to find a shop tomorrow to put it on.
i dont want to wait, but should i wait til i have a xtc downpipe too? i have a catback already. i cant wait to hear it. this is the farthest i've been with modding a car:P

I'm old school
The pacesetter is long tube header. That means it will not fit in the space of the factory original part. That's what shorty headers do. So yes, you will need to have a custom downpipe fabricated in order to connect it to the rest of your exhaust. By that time, you will have spent as much as you would have on a shorty header. So you gonna be spending some more money either way.

well the only shop i know of that can install it said it would be about 250 bucks..lol no.
the muffler shop said they can cut and weld the rest but they wont connect it to the block so i gotta do that. do you think since it cuts off the factory flex pipe instead of paying for a new one i can just move that one to the bottom of the downpipe til i get a new one or just make a whole custom downpipe? scared to do a custom one because they do crush bending.

You'll want the flex pipe, the exhaust moves around as the engine does and you'll need the flex or you could run into problems, not to mention the rattle you might get when you turn the wheel ect... I had a pacesetter header once and it came with some wierd excuse for a flexpipe it was a pos.

before you install it get it thermal coated, or sell it and pick up the shorty off of cobalt addiction that bolts right up (will make for far less headaches)
