im still argiung this point that if he was able to break the tires loose before, he should be able to now as well..

I dont have an SS/SC. I also can spin them for REAL in 2nd @ 40 mph without dropping the clutch.

K, just makig sure. I just found it funny that u were calling a 2.2l slow when ur right around the same.

I have enough power to spin my tires all the way to 60 mph. Give me a break.

i think its a combo of that he wasnt used to the power before and is now, coupled with some kind of conditions....such as the shinny **** that the dealer puts on the tires to make them look pretty, the fact that they were new and wearing them down may give him a bigger contact patch to the ground meaning more static friction to contend with, that he bought it in a more damp season...something to that effect

O i know what it is and what it can do but i don't get pissed when its called slow...i know its nothing special in the grand scheme of things. Its a fun little car gets good mileage and best of all is almost paid off. Will be keeping it for a while especially since the motor was pretty much rebuilt....atleast the entire head is brand new and part of the bottom end.

The original question on this post has been lost.
The guy's current up and go is not what it used to be.
He wants to know why.

All the other stuff is just sidetracks.

I listed out some possibles and will do so again:

Tire pressure
Type of oil (not 5W30)
Using Mogas
Need a new fuel filter
Used synthetic since day one and didn't let the motor break in
Take the anvil out of the trunk and so on...

What other things would make the car work good one day and now it is "slower than it used to be"?

Not "its a 2.2"

This is suppsoed to be a community of like-minded car owners, who help eachother out and enjoy modding their cars.... No matter what engine it is equipped with.

I hardly see that here at all anymore. Every thread, I mean almost every single ******* thread in the 2.2 section is over-run with ss owners and their infinite wisdom. Yes....Brandon97z and his "oh so fast 2.4" are sure to come back with some "witty" remark about how I am somehow "sensitive" about my car.....whatever.

Its amazing how people grow these big, HUGE ***** behind the safety of the internet.... But what is even more amazing is how much time the "superior" SS owners spend in the L61 section.

The 2.2 Is just fine in its class....and In its class I mean price point. It is just as fast/reliable/fun to drive/quiet/advanced as any of the other cars by any manufacturer in this price point.

Not everyone who bought a 2.2 wanted a 2.4 or 2.0FI. Some people have the money to buy a faster car, but choose to spend it elswhere, and occasionally mod their 2.2. Why is that so difficult to wrap your mind around?
Amen

I think the OP lost interest in his thread when it got sidetracked.

Bump for the OP.

I only let mine go 3,000 miles until I switched. What do they use in the LS from the factory..? Just Mobil-1 5w-30?

muffler delete my have something to do with it....although the rest of the exhaust should be restrictive enough to not cause much of a loss.
