haven't done it yet, (i took off the resinator and will get the K&N Drop in, pretty much the same thing, but for $40 instead of $200) but i can't magine it being that hard... airbox is a piece of cake to take off, resonator is like 2 clips, just take the wheel off and the fenderliner...

I didn't try it with just short ram.
It wasn't that bad to install, Injen directions recommended removal of the front, which we did. It took a lil over an hour for everything.

Take off the oil cap. Remove the engine cover. Remove the oil cap riser (its tight, but a simple quarter turn is all it needs). Put the oil cap back on directly to the valve cover.
Then later, get your valve cover polished up to match the pretty new Injen. Maybe get the MPX billet oil cap to match too. Like this:

But, I haven't driven it very hard, or much, since I have put it on there, so maybe I just need to give it some more testing.

and halfcent, us 2,4 don't have a pretty engine top like that

I never even realized that oil cap riser could be removed, thanks for the idea Halfcent. I pretty much had to butcher mine to get it off, but it looks much better now. And yeah the 2.4L isn't nearly as nice looking as the 2.2L. We're the freakish cousin who lives under the stairs and eats buckets of fish heads

There are write-ups in the how to section about polishing aluminum. You use Rogue. It's like a polishing compound for metals. Take the part you want to polish and get in on a bench. For the valve cover, that means taking in off the engine. Start with wheel brushes on a drill and get the whole part buffed. Use a Dremel in the tight corners. Then go to the Rogue. You can buy it at Home Depot in the tool department. Grits of black, red, and white in that order. Use a different buffer wheel for each. Then a little mothers aluminum polish and your golden. It's very time consuming, don't rush.

an air filter will only do so much. The only reason you get a horsepower gain is because the computer realizes there is more air being taken in, thus, it has to pump out more fuel to keep the fuel/air mixture just right... thats your power gain right there.
