my gas millage?
I dont get as much out of a tang of gas as some other 2.2 owners i have spoken to. I have a magnaflow muffler welded on (fart can) do you think that could do anything to my gas milage? is that the possible reason or can it be anything else?

Do an engine tune up; new plugs, wires, oil change, check tire pressure. You could also invest in a Boost/Vacuum gauge. Closer to atmospheric pressure you are, the more fuel you will use. It's how I drive in my SS/SC, I hit 53 MPG on the highway.
Set your cruise and easy on the pedal. No need to race everywhere you go.
This is simply how I do it.

Terrain also plays a huge role on mileage. Example is I live in Las Vegas NV, and when I drive up to Lee Canyon I only get about 18 MPG but on my way back down I get almost 70MPG at 75MPH.

Everyone has different ways of driving. I know what works for me. I clutch out when I go downhill too.

In actuality...the air pressure in the tires is somewhat of an old wives tale. YES...it does help your MPG's. HOWEVER, it only helps with about 1 MPG...IF THAT! Another thing to consider is if you've bought new tires recently, that will kill your gas milage. Yet another thing to consider is if you've upsized to a larger tire...that will REALLY kill your gas milage.

I just got 28 mpg's country driving on my latest tank, that is with a blower and a lighter car, but for some reason stock for stock your cobalt guys get better gas mileage. I've been working on my tune which has got me up from 25 mpg. Of course I enjoy the car and it sees wide open practically every time it gets driven.
