My New Plans!!
So for some reason i had a dream last night that I supercharged my 2.2, now i have never had this type of idea before because i've never seen a s/c as efficient as a t/c. Never the less I've always thought of staying N/A. however the more i thought about it the more i saw it as a good thing for me and my situation.
For one, it is cheap. Two, i don't need a new exhaust mani or d/p if i were to turbocharge it. 3 i'm not looking to make massive power because its a DD. Besides this is why i have the .:R32
So now i started researching of what i need and PM'd a few people and i think i might just do this. I have a nitrous setup in my car right now which I'm still contemplating on what i'm going to do with it.
Now my biggest thing thus far is trying to sort out a few things here and there. so may be some can help me out. I haven't found a "complete list' of whats needed for the 2.2l, only the 2.4l. now so far i have:
1. the actual m62 sc
2. LSJ mani
3. heat exchanger
4. LSJ TB
5. intake piping
6. tuning
7. injectors
8. LSJ oil pan (optional, but recommended)
9. dampener
10. alternator bracket
11. idler pulley
Now i haven't gotten an answer from everyone i PM'd so i also had a few small questions. I know that if i get the harness and injectors from and 2005 ss/sc it will be a plug & play since i have a 2005. Now i've also read that the stock pulley doesn't fit the OEM serpentine belt. are these true?
My other questions are is are there any other things for safety that i should look at? Of course i know of gauges such as boost and AFR. Lastly, i've noticed there is a missing relay and fuse in my fuse panel for aftercooler. Now, i assume this is for the ss/sc models but i can I enable this or get this to work somehow (like wire up so it runs almost OEM)? My only thought is that the ECM might have to be changed/tuned for this feature but may be someone can pitch in. Also what baout controlling boost? is there a way to swap the 2.0's bypass valve or would i have to put a manual controller?
Lastly im thinking of keeping my nitrous kit in to add a SMALL shot like 25 or 35. i know its not much but it should lower my IAT. right? Now as far as tuning what do the ss/sc owners do for tuning with nitrous because i know that timing needs to be retarded as oppose to tuning for just supercharging. Now, like i stated before i'm not looking for massive power or even pushing the motors to its limits/ getting the most power i can with the supercharger for that matter. I would like about 200-210WHP with just the supercharger and then maybe the small shot of nitrous.
If i do this i will take many pics and vids i promise. As long as i get all my question answered and research down it should be a go. Well, also once i sell my stuff so i can have extra cash.
Also if/when i do this i will have my 2.4 throttle body, 2.4 intake mani and injen cold air intake for sale. So look out all you 2.2 guys that want to upgrade.

there have been ppl who have attempted the m62 build on a 2.2. i dont know of any that actually finished it and have had their car running good afterwords though. hopefully now that there is some type of tune available, u'll have better luck than the others. i think that is your biggest obstacle. the other stuff is just getting your hands on all the parts needed and actually putting it together. its all possible, but like i said, the tune is your biggest obstacle.

Yeah your asking way too much though. I have someone who im talking to whose doing all that for under $800...

he would actually probably be on par with yours if all you have is STGII and dual-pass like ur sig says. You have a LSJ with a 3" pulley, whereas we would have an LSJ stroked to 2.2l and 10.0:1 CR. They'd probably even out....yours might still be a bit faster, but i guarantee a SCed 2.2 is gonna be faster than a stock LSJ.

im not leaving a 3.4" pulley unless i get rods and pistons...i promised myself that. i might get cams, free's up the breathing opposed to smaller pulleys making hotter air to blow sooner. Also, i give myself permission to run any and all cooling mods as long as i dont retune and advance timing. they can only help the engine last longer... im trying to get very close to 250hp, without breaking 250hp (especially if it involved overspinning the blower) unless i build the engine
