Need Exhaust Opinions

My Current Setup - Header, Catted ZZP 2.5 DP, Tsudo 2.25 CB

Currently it isnt too loud, but its too loud for me to drive everyday. My car is SC on a 2.8 Pulley, how bad would it hurt it, if I went back to a LSJ manifold and LSJ CBE and kept the zzp 2.5 dp? I just want my exhaust to be quieter. I was even thinking of just putting a SS Muffler on the exhaust i have now. But the Tsudo is stainless and i dont think the SS mufflers are so I would have to band clamp it. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Andrew

Ever considered a Magnaflow brand exhaust system. They have increase tone over stock, but far from to loud or agressive.

There is nothing wrong with the stock exhausts, they are free flowing and don't pose much of a restriction. Aftermarket only gets you sound/noise.

I'd keep the header and down pipe, just put a stock lsj exhaust on it. I am running it with a zzp long tube, sounds fine.

I didnt know if the header would be causing it to be a bit louder also. I may try and pick up a LSJ muffler and try band clamping it on there to see if it sounds better. Whatever I try ill get back and let everyone know.

What kind of header are you running? I'm sure it will make it a little louder, but the down pipe make more of a differance. I got a zzp long tube, cat'd with a 2.5 exit into a lsj exhaust. It's pretty mellow cruising. It get loud when you romp on it.

He said ok thanks bye. And you're on an internet forum, you can't expect everyone to be all prim and proper and do things the way you want to. People enjoy themselves and I'm pretty sure they could care less about what you think of them

Whoa whoa turbo, no need to get your panties bunched up. Im not mad, just find it pointless to post nonsense in someones thread. So when he responded i felt like messing with him haha, no need to go off the deep end.

Its a ebay header, ZZP 2.5 dp catted, and a Tsudo 2.25 CBE. Its not crazy loud, just cant stand the drone on the highway or when i half throttle it to get going it gets too loud for something i want to daily. Im thinking of just adding a LNF or LSJ muffler onto the Tsudo CBE.

Get a real header, not eBay crap. If you want to run a shorty I'm told. Babmab or what ever it is, is the way to go. If you run that you came keep your down pipe. You got a cheap exhaust it's gonna be loud and drone. Buy a new one or put the biggest resonator you can in.

I'm not all strung out I'm just saying you can't really tell people to not post because you don't like their answers due to them being "nonsense". This is css.net. Most of the fun of it is because of the "nonsense" you've just gotta take the info you're given along with the jokes that people make

Slap in a ZZP resonator. Mine is on the way and hope will take out all the rasp in my 2.2.

I think the stock SS exhaust is a better exhaust than tsudo anyways so I'd put that on. It most likely flows better too.

Sorry not to thread jack, but I'm wondering what some of your opinions were on my set up. I have a m62 with a 2.9 pulley, lsj header, 2.5'' zzp catless dp, 2.5'' through a 32'' resonator, to a 3'' magnaflow muffler. The tone is good, except it is insanely loud and the drone kills. The videos I've seen of quieter mufflers like the Walker seem to sound so raspy and tinny. I want it to sound decent but as quiet as possible.

edit: I ran an LNF muffler for a couple weeks and it was even louder and raspier than this stupid magnaflow.

The stock lsj exhaust is pretty damn restrictive. Just going from stock to 2.25 gm exhaust the got like 9whp.. And that is stock!
The stock exhaust looks like a handicapped person designed it.
Go to gm touring and it will be significantly quieter and still good flowing.. Or buy the ZZP whisper resonator. 2.5" it is way quiter (ask bluelightning) his exhaust went from loud rice to mellow and nice (except at wot when it sounds like a jet lol)
