Need a simple answer

Alright im looking to finish up on the performance end of my modding by buying a 2.4IM/TB then a tune and being done with the balt performance wise.

heres what i need answered:

Obviously if you run a 2.2 TB on a 2.4IM you need some sort of adapter for the throttle body to fit on the IM, but i plan on going straight to a 2.4IM and 2.4TB. now i cant seem to find any used 2.4IM/TB's for sale as one piece, so im going to buy them separately. Do i need any specific adapter for the 2.4TB on the 2.4IM or should it all bolt right up? im 99% certain they will but i wanna know for sure.

also as long as i get a 6 pin throttle body to match my current one it will all be plug and play correct (i know ill need a tune)

Fully bolted and tuned 2.2 is the same price as a cheap S/C setup.

Oh and the S/C is 50 more whp.

Been there done that.

ehh.. so far full exhaust upgrades and an intake cost me 400.. so this tune, im, and tb will probably cost me another 400... FIND ME AN S/C SETUP THAT COSTS 800!? you wont lol. (used parts/deals FTMFW!) im perfectly content with staying N/A..

I'm pretty sure people have done S/C builds with used parts with $800 If a full retail kit is $2k, I'm sure you could bolt on a basic kit for $800 used. Only extra cost is a tune.

uh no way! the cheapest s/c kits ive found are around 1800 and most of those arent complete. just a m62 costs around 400 at least. ive talked to numerous ppl that have done the swap and when all is said and done its more around the 2100 mark.. not gunna happen

note: those full retail kits still dont include everything you need

i wanna just do the basics on the balt, which is why im staying N/A.. i kinda want a sportbike so im trying to slowly save for that too (the cobalt will never be fast enough but an r1 probably will id hope LOL)..

if i ever boost anything its going to be a better motor to build off of such as the 2.0LSJ or LNF. having to do internal work at 250hp is kinda retarded

trust me man, youre heading in the right direction. i made a big mistake doing all the work i did to my cobalt. all the money i dumped into it couldve bought me a better car or have been 1/3 of the cost of a ss/tc. i will say one thing tho, it was a excellent learning experience but not worth the money at all

thank you! someone understands
i just wanna slightly mod the balt within reason, and then save money and enjoy it for what it is as a DD.. its never gunna be "fast" and im not willing to dump 4-5k into it to make it as fast as id like so eff that im staying n/a
