Talking New harness bar on its way

I have a cobalt addiction harness bar coming thursday. It will compliment my racing seats nicely. Im gonna paint it anodized blue to match my seats and interior panels. I'm still working on some 4 point restraints. I will take some pics when i get it installed. It will be a nice conversation piece for shows.

Edit: I put the bar in and it fits perfect. I didn't have any fitment issues like everyone else was describing. I was even able to fit the seat belt restraints back on there. I had to put them on for it to pass saftey inspection. Other wise i would just use 4 point restraints. Anyhow it looks cool.

On a serious note...that harness bar sits to high to be considered safe. The bar should sit straight behind your seats harness holes and have a device to keep the harness straps from moving around.

A few examples of what Im talking about.

well im still using stock seat belts until i buy some 4 point restraints. For now i bolted the stock holders up to the outsides of the bar. You just can't see it very well in the pic. Im not sure if i can take them out or not cause of saftey inspections. If anyone knows tell me.

Drilling holes in your seat belts will render your seat belts useless / they will no longer be considered safe to use on the street or at the track.

Drilling holes in the bar is also not a good idea.

Just from looking at your bar set up Id say only use your stock belts in the car. Using a harness on that bar will be putting your left in jeopardy. I highly suggest selling it off and having a proper bar made and installed.

I've attended a few classes for track driving and they get serious about harness install and harness bar set ups. The bar your using is a classic case of what they strongly suggest not using.

I'm just trying to save your life.

lol its cool. Im not selling it. The car is mainly for show anyhow. Im well aware of the SCCA rules i just wanted it cause it looked cool and Cobalt addiction was the only place that made one so.
