since no one is going to be able to tune our cars i wonder.... if i got the GM supercharger kit on my 2.2l could i then in theory with the new programmed ecu use the HP tuners software? or could i the add the stage2 GM kit?

The Stage 2 Kit would be useless I would think without a tune - that's if it would even fit

no, you cannot just swap out ECU's and expect it to work. If it were that simple we'd all be blown by now . Also if I remember correctly the reflashed ECU for the cavi/GM supercharger kit is not modifiable w/ HP tuners.

so basicly the reason we can't have the SC from a SS is because of this chip? I think I recall reading its becuase the computer now freaks when it gets all that air into it and goes in to low performance mode?

it IS possible... but would require a ton of work, and you would lose things like power steering, a/c, maybe power brakes, basically everything that makes the car driveable.

I'd have to say no because the 2.2 supercharger kit is for a Cavalier IIRC. The Cavalier ECU is not compatible with a Cobalt. I think people have explored the possibility before and it has something do with the ignition stuff being changed? I don't remember the details, I just know they're not compatible.

yea, i'm with ya on that!!

so i guess the question is how much money do you have. like i said, it CAN be done, but it's certainly not going to be a swap and drive. i would say it's no where near worth it, unless you have tons and tons of money to blow.

You can tune using a 5th injector, this will allow you to use a supercharger safely. There are many "piggyback" systems that work fine.
