welcome to the website heres some great mods to do right off the bat are Cat back exhaust and a cold air intake light weight rims short throw shifter or if you have a automatic b&m makes a shiftplus improver that helps. Tirerack.com has great rim and tire selections as far as body kits check out some of our vendors on the website rksport.com a lip kit looks great on the car but idk it your ride also ebay helps out dearly. and as you get more familar with the car and the mods you put on it then youll be ready for mods that are a little more gratifying like nitrous (i will never suggest you do this unless your looking to bring down ur track time immensly) or boost it

The best deals I've fond on rims is at http://edgeracing.com/ but you have to say it's an 05 for cobalt to come up. This will work for 4 lug. Your mom likes to mod her car? COOL! Does she drive stick or auto?

she wants to mod it but imight take it to work and save on gas. cuz my z28 is not the best on gas mileage!

Second the funniest is thing is she wants to pimp it out. I showed her what it can look like on nfs:most wanted on the xbox 360!! she was love n that.

K for the exhaust does headers make a big difference? I know for my car it makes about 20.

I could custom make a cat back. I just need to know what pipe size to use and what muffler. I wouldnt want to make the pipes too big and lose Hp. What about the cats on it...... how much do i gain by deleting them? and if i do would i have to reprogram the car?

06 2.2 ls cannot be tuned, there's so many of us here that wish it could be, but sadly it cannot, at the momment anyway...

and about the cat-back, go w/either 2.25", but no bigger than 2.5", and idk about the cats, someone at a shop told me not to b/c i'd throw a CEL and i'd make me lose hp

hes right on all issues...except losing HP....unless you went into "limp home mode" or something...you should gain a couple horses...but it doesnt really justify itself to fail emissions and have a CEL for just 3-5 hp

Yes it can.

Piggybacks work.

2 1/4" diameter

You won't gain anything from getting rid of your cat. It would sound horrendous and you'll be polluting the world for no type of power gain. Captain Planet would be pissed.

Header, not headers. Yes, a header can make a difference by increasing scavenging effects depending on the design of it.

Those are mild changes and changing anything computer wise isn't necessary.

k lol catback is the same as a muffler/custom piping?

IF i change the stock pipe to 2.25" then i put a different muffler right?

Im not trying to be ricer lol I kill those bitches in my Z28! I just want to give the car some sound without hurting Horsepower.

I have the piping to do this..... just need to know whats a good muffler ? I dont wanna lose hp by putting some shitty stuff on the car.

ive seen alot of people on here like the magnaflow. flowmaster has been talked down because the insides rattle loose eventually. 2.25 and a good muffler would be an excellent start.

I havn't had a chance to look underneath the car yet. But when i do the 2.25 exhaust thats after the cat right?

so my next question would be....is it worth the money vs gains to buy a header?

Sounds like a Genuine Honda K24 Thread in here.

Just doing hte muffler and paie is going to make it sound ricy and raspy. Its teh tuning between the resonator and the muffler that either makes it sound sweet and deep or raspy ricer.

Cheap = Pace Setter -raspy
Mid Range = GM Performance - deep mellow
High = Borla - you got a z28 im sure you've heard a borla system someplace.

Header and DP are going to cause TQ loss unless you can get more air into the motor, and the breathing point problem is the manifold and throttle body

Basicly you could sink $1200ish into all that bolt on stuff and really youre only going to see 15 to 25 hp diffrence.

Here is the GMPP Sport with the GM intake tube.

my gains were about on par with an intake

in general the gains of bolt ons on this car don't add up to the money spent and really bolt on gains are overhyped and always end up in disappointment when done...atleast in my experience anyway.

k so its really not worth the money to mod it.

I guess juts for ***** n giggles im going to find a muffler (Fart CAn) and some 2.25 pipe... make me a custom exhaust.

MY next question is whats a good air intake to put on it. Something that won't throw a code. I looked at all the post and everything but i still can't decide. I don't think i wanna have to tear apart the fender wells in ****....if it doesn't gain that much more over a short ram. and will doing this help my gas miles even more?

my mom bought the car to be cheap on insurance and cheap on gas. She doesn't drive all that much, so i will just use the car to go to work in from time to time. Save miles and gas on my car 2002 z28 wit 71k miles

I tell you what for a 4-banger it has some *****....but then again its made by chevy!!!
